Belongings belong to different occupants. Cleaning or disposal authority must be established item by item. Who owns the affected contents and how will each authorized decision be recorded?
Different occupants can own different belongings
An inventory should separate tenant, guest and property-owner items where those ownership arrangements apply. Record material and known condition rather than assigning one decision to everything in the room. Building cleanup permission does not establish consent to discard personal possessions belonging to someone else.
Make each authorized action traceable
Ask who approves cleaning, specialist advice, transport and disposal for each item group. If the owner is unavailable, retain that approval dependency instead of treating turnover pressure as consent. Returned items need an agreed room condition and custody record, with cleaning limitations preserved rather than an unconditional salvage promise.
Access for the affected space
For a rental, establish the resident’s access needs and the owner’s approval contact before work is arranged. Building cleanup and decisions about guest or tenant belongings require separate authority. For contents, record the owner of each item and identify any specialist handling that needs separate authorization.
